Hardy Jensen Addiction Recovery Story at Discovery House

The Discovery House saved my life. When I first arrived, I was broken—addicted,

isolated, and drowning in hopelessness. I had lost everything that mattered, including

my family, friends, and myself. Most importantly I lost the love of my life for 15 years, my

beautiful wife. But from the moment I stepped through the door, I felt something I hadn’t

felt in years and that was hope.

Through their unwavering support and structured program, I began to rebuild my life.

The staff and counsellors showed me how to face my addiction head-on, teaching me

tools to cope with my struggles and rediscover my worth. Group therapy became a

place where I could share my pain without judgment, and in return, I found strength in

the stories of others walking the same path.

Discovery House gave me a safe space to heal and grow. It reconnected me with my

family, helping to mend broken trust and rebuild relationships I thought were beyond

repair. For the first time in 30 years, I laughed with my daughter, felt pride in myself, and

believed in a future free from addiction.

Today, I stand stronger, sober, and filled with gratitude. The Discovery House didn’t just

save my life—it gave me the tools to truly live it. For that, I’ll always be thankful.
