As the holiday season approaches, Discovery House Recovery invites you to join our 8th Annual House Light Up, a special event aimed at shedding light on addiction recovery and honoring those we have lost. This event, titled “Shed the Light on Addiction,” is scheduled for Saturday, December 14th, from 4 to 6 pm at our primary care home at 633 Winnipeg Street. The evening promises to be one of hope, remembrance, and community support, featuring speakers, refreshments, and fellowship.
Lighting the Way to Recovery
The holidays can be a difficult time for those struggling with addiction and their loved ones. Many in our community have been affected by addiction, either directly or indirectly, and the journey to recovery often feels isolating. This event seeks to change that narrative by bringing people together to support recovery, share stories, and honor those we’ve lost to addiction. By lighting up our home with Christmas bulbs, we’re creating a symbol of hope and resilience that reminds everyone that no one is alone in their journey.
How You Can Help
To achieve our goal, we’re aiming to raise $150,000 to fund four new recovery treatment beds at our primary care home. These beds will provide much-needed support for individuals seeking a path to recovery. But we can’t do it without your help. Here’s how you can get involved:
Purchase a Christmas Bulb: You can pre-purchase Christmas bulbs to be strung up at our facility in honor of someone you love or in memory of those lost to addiction. Each bulb costs $10, or you can purchase a 25-bulb strand for $250. Every bulb is a step toward creating a brighter future for those in recovery.
Attend the Event: Join us on December 14th and become part of a community that believes in second chances. Hear powerful stories from speakers who have firsthand experience with addiction and recovery, and enjoy refreshments and fellowship with others who share a commitment to making a difference.
End the Stigma, Bring Recovery to the Light
The funds raised will directly support our efforts to provide comprehensive, compassionate care for individuals battling addiction. In a world where addiction often carries a stigma, we want to foster understanding and empathy. By bringing recovery “out of the shadows,” we can inspire hope and encourage more people to seek help without fear of judgment.
Our motto for this event is, “Return Fathers to Children & Sons to Families.” We believe in the power of recovery to restore lives and reunite families, bringing healing to those affected by addiction. With your support, we can make this a reality for more people in our community.
Join Us in Making a Difference
This holiday season, let’s come together to make a positive impact. Your support could be the light that guides someone toward a new beginning. Whether you contribute by purchasing a bulb, attending the event, or spreading the word, every little bit helps us get closer to our goal.
To purchase bulbs or for more information, please contact us at info@discoveryhouserecovery.com, call 250-809-6075 or purchase them online here. Help us shed the light on addiction, honor lives, and build a community where recovery is possible.
This December, let’s make a statement: recovery is real, recovery is possible, and recovery deserves to be celebrated. We hope to see you there!
